Daryl Runswick writes: This is the first of two Antiphons
I composed for Ex Cathedra, which they performed in
St Paul's Church, Birmingham on 20th and 21st
December 1999. There are eight antiphon texts in all,
taken from the Advent Liturgy, and I composed numbers
4 (O Clavis David) and 5.

    6'42

O clavis David, et sceptrum domus Israel:
qui aperis, et nemo claudit; claudis, et nemo aperit:
veni, et educ vinctum de domo carceris,
sedentem in tenebris et umbra mortis.

O key of David, sceptre of the house of Israel:
you who open the door, and no-one can close it;
who close the door, and no-one can open it:
come, and break the bonds of those
who lie in darkness and the shadow of death.
